I have always loved dogs and dogs have been a huge part of our lives for many many many years. My husband and I have been actively involved with the Leonberger breed since 1999 and have loved every minute of sharing our home with these great dogs. Our kennel is Wanderweg and we are located in Nova Scotia. We have a great crew of dogs here and they and the kids keep us busy. We love to hang out with the dogs and the children and just enjoy being outside on a beautiful sunny day – okay or a foggy day too!
I am actively working for the LCC and hope that the club will thrive over the next years and that many people will enjoy our efforts and our dogs.

Leonbergers have been a very big part of my life since 1996 and Bogie who lived up to everything I had wanted in a dog. Then Hannah in 1999 and fast forward to 2010. I am now owned and loved by Savannah, Sadie, Heidi, Kramer and Emma.
We enjoy boating, camping, swimming and conformation showing. My dogs’ biggest job is help with farm chores and greeters in my raw food store, so please come by for a visit!
As a breeder I feel it is my responsibility to help the Leo continue to stay the big friendly goofy breed they are. As one of the founding members of the LCC and Past President, I will continue to educate people on this wonderful breed.
Cindy Koppen Western Director
Cindy, owner/breeder since 1995 pm BC’s Sunshine coast of “Seelowen” (Sealion in German) has been an active member since 1996 of the LCA, the CKC since 1993 and here at the LCC, as Western Director.
My love of the breed has allowed me to meet wonderful people and Leos! I have enjoyed the mentorship of a few great seasoned breeders and am currently mentoring others to pass along the valuable information I’ve learned.
Currently, we have 4 females as part of our breeding program as well as their carefully chosen boys! Right now, we have 7-week old puppies sleeping in the yard, my 9th litter. With my participation in the club, I hope to add my knowledge to the betterment of the breed.

I live in Hillsburgh, ON in a big old house that has become owned and renovated by my dogs. Presently, I have three Berners (Hershey, Cadbury & Nestly) and two Leos living with me (Miss Marple & Tango).
Nathalie Dame Quebec Director
My name is Nathalie Dame and I am a biochemist. I got my first Leonberger 11 years ago and fell in love. I’ve been involved in Leo breeding for almost 10 years now. Healthy, outgoing and affectionate puppies are my goals, keeping in mind the ultimate goal for a breeder: to improve the Leonberger breed. I find that my scientific formation helps on many levels of breeding activities especially when it comes to the understanding of the dog’s physiology and genetics.
As the Quebec’s LCC representative, my goal is to promote the breed, give and exchange information on Leonbergers with all Leo lovers, especially when it comes to French info. Bienvenue a tous les membres francophones
